Be a good neighbor – install a shadowbox fence at your Shawnee home!
Shadow box fences, often referred to as “good neighbor” fences, feature pickets on both sides of the fence rails so that the fence looks identical on both sides. A shadow box is a semi-private fence that has spaces between the pickets to allow air to pass through, but the pickets on the opposite side of the fence line up with the gaps to block the view. As you walk along the fence, you might see grass or a bit of your neighbor’s house or the street, but enough of the view is blocked to provide privacy.
Shadowbox fences are also commonly referred to as “board on board” fences which describes their unique design. They are typically built to heights of 4 foot, 5 foot or 6 foot. You can choose to have a flat post or an ornamental post like a Berkley or French French Gothic post to add flair to your fence.
We love shadowbox fences because they are stylish while preserving your privacy and are functional as they stand up to strong winds better than a standard privacy fence because due to their alternating spaced picket design.
